Urban Fashion: Meet "Ru Ru"

Well I have to tell ya, I got into photography because I loved photographing my nieces and beautiful scenery as well as being the crazy friend with the camera while out or at events. Then when I started my program I was really interested in Weddings (even though they were unbelievably intimidating) and don't get me wrong I still absolutely love to shoot it all, but while developing my portfolio I really surprised myself. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY! You have all seen my last few postings, and those shoots were supposed to be typical "portrait shots" and somehow I turned them into these hardcore, urban, fashion photographs. So needless to say, that is what my portfolio theme was concluded to! I turn in the final product tomorrow night during our last class. I will be posting the final choices for the portfolio sometime this week, so be sure to check back! I am extremely bummed about class being over. Taking this hobby to this now, professional level, has been my savior in ways you can't even imagine. Its exactly what I needed and it makes me so unbelievably happy, and the growth that came with it over the last year is something I am so proud of and I am so excited to continue it on my own. Above all, the support and friendships that were developed with my classmates and teachers is something that I am sad to leave on a weekly basis, but so thankful for and I'm happy to have them in my life. We are expected to have an Exhibition cocktail night in our honor at some point in the upcoming months and I will post that date for those of you who want to come support me!

The final touch on the portfolio will include one or two of these shots of my good friend Lauren aka "Ru". I've been begging her to pose for me for the longest time because you have to agree with me that she just has that America's Next Top Model look, especially with her new hair cut-which usually changes by the week! She did a great job, we had to shoot in deserted areas because she didn't want anyone to see her, she is quite modest :) But sorry Ru Ru, everyone gets to see the final product!! Enjoy!
